Bella San Luci Sun Dried Tomatoes, 2 lb. for $7.75 — A Tasty BPA-Free Alternative

When I moved to Alaska in 1980, there were only a few things that shocked me. In the grocery stores, the price of milk was double (it no longer is), and the tomatoes were tasteless and not even red. They’re picked when they’re still almost green so they can make the long journey northward by dogsled : )

Many now buy hot house tomatoes. They’re red, but they don’t taste that good either, probably because they’re void of nutrients from NPK fertilizer (nitrogen/phosphorus/potassium – the 3 out of 70 minerals that make crops look good and grow well). Most crops are extremely deficient in nutrients. If veges don’t taste great they’re probably mineral deficient, and probably not that good for you. And this can happen with ‘organic’ products too.

The product I’m recommending here, Bella San Luci Sun Dried Tomatoes is probably also grown with NPK fertilizer, but it’s probably going to pick up more minerals from the rainwater than the hot house tomatoes will. And they can be picked ripe, because transport isn’t a factor. They’re full of flavor.

But the main reason I’m recommending this product is the lack of bisphenol A (BPA), the synthetic female hormone that almost all plastic is made with, which lines almost every ‘tin’ can, which is causing serious physical affects. And the acid in tomatoes leach the BPA from the can lining more than do most foods.

So it’s important to avoid canned tomatoes as much as possible. I still use tomato paste some, but I’m using these sun dried tomatoes more and more. I’m totally avoiding regular canned tomatoes. The average male in America has about half of the testosterone of our ancestors. Fluoridated water, soy, and bovine growth hormone are also factors. But this BPA-in-can-linings one is huge!

These sun dried tomatoes are packed in glass and in olive oil, which is non-GMO. They have a lot of flavor, and are a good bargain price-wise as well – 2 pounds for $7.75.

Highly recommended.

Incidentally, when Costco has them, the small, grape (size) tomatoes actually taste like real tomatoes, in my experience, but they’re spendy, compared to this alternative.

Whimping out America! Canned foods are full of sex hormones leached from the plastic linings, made of synthetic estrogen, bisphenol A. “There are 700 published, scientific studies…that the FDA has never gotten around to looking at.”

Displaying my fine-art prints soon in Eagle River

I have the pleasure to announce that during March, I’ll be displaying my fine-art photography prints at Jitters Coffee House in Eagle River, Alaska — “Where Coffee is an Art.”  Their coffee really is excellent!

Here is a write-up on the coffee house:

From: kaylene.us…

Coffee Shop Chronicles

I walked into Jitters for the first time on a cold February night in 1994. I was met at the door with the deep aroma of freshly ground coffee. Inside, the old pub feel of the mahogany bar offered a sense of warmth and welcome. Older folks chatted quietly at vintage wooden tables, while younger people played Scrabble.  A few book lovers wrapped themselves in a cup of java and a good read. Jitters was clearly a multi-generational place to gather.  And I thought to myself, “This is what community looks like.”

Entire Article Here

And here is a bio of Jitters’ owner, Dennis Johnson and overview of his gallery/gift shop, next door.

This should be fun! This is my debut!

By the way, none of the photos I’ll be displaying have been posted on the web. Perhaps I’ll give a little online preview before the show.

2 former NWA co-workers hospitalized

One of my leads, going way back to 1980, Ed Habeger was in a serious car accident and is in serious (but not critical) condition in a Minnesota hospital right now, from what I’ve heard.

It looks like it’s going to be a tough rehab.

Unfortunately, I don’t think I have any photos of Ed on this blog, as he and many others took the early out (retirement) just before I started taking numerous photos back on day shift.

Another man who I worked with going back to 1980, also retired recently and moved with his wife to the lower 48. He just discovered he has really bad cancer. I’m not sure he would want his name mentioned online. I’ll just give the first initial of his first name, ‘H.’

My prayers and thoughts are with you both.

God bless!

The City of Love

Yesterday, I was again thinking about how to photograph the Chugach Mountains that so wonderfully grace Anchorage, and I believe I heard: “The city of Love.”

I think God is telling us what to expect when ONE happens (Jesus’ heartcry for His people in John 17 — what ONEcanhappen is about).

This reminds me of the Welsh Revival where the miners had to retrain the mules because:

Glimpses #180: Evan Roberts and the Welsh Revival; Christian History Institute

Employers tell me that the quality of the work the miners are putting in has improved. Waste is less, men to go their daily toil with a new spirit of gladness in their labour. In the long dim galleries of the mine, where once the hauliers swore at their ponies in Welshified English terms of blasphemy, there is now but to be heard the haunting melody of the Revival music. The pit ponies, like the American mules, having been driven by oaths and curses since they first bore the yoke, are being retrained to do their work without the incentive of profanity.

I expect a permanent Welsh revival, a permanent Asbury revival — when we all get right with each other in Christ Jesus Who is then our Lord.

It’s up to us. If we build it He will come.

We can do it!

My Cat Dream

Have you ever gotten really close to a dog or cat (or a person) and sensed they wanted to hurt you? It’s something you feel. I’ve experienced this many times. But this time it happened in a dream.

This morning, I dreamt I was in a room with some people, and the house-cat was about 1 foot in front of my face — and I sensed this feeling that the cat was vicious inside. It also had lost most of its hair on its mouth, which made it even look creepy.

I started praying specifically for whoever had cursed it in my prayer language (tongues — believing in my heart that I was praying only for this one thing. And then we know the problem is dealt with when the prayer language stops. See: I’ve finally shared much of what I know about and what can be done through the TREMENDOUS and mostly misunderstood and underused gift of tongues). This is something I almost always do when this happens, but usually not with the animal on my lap. This also always (in my experience) works to break off whatever is causing them to have nightmares, where they shake and whimper during sleep.

So I was praying out loud (apparently these other people in the room were also Christians; otherwise, I usually don’t pray in tongues in front of people) with the cat on my lap when I heard my prayer language get real intense. I asked the others if they would help pray (because the more people that pray for a specific thing in tongues the faster it gets dealt with).

Right after I asked them to help pray, the cat bit my finger, and I struggled to get it out of his mouth.

I don’t remember the end of this dream. But when wide awake, I did actually pray for whoever was cursing this cat, and I really did get a lot of prayer language, between 5 and 10 minutes.

So I then knew this wasn’t just an information dream as to how something works.

It’s also possible that this cat represented a person who was about to bite me, so to speak. And by praying what I did today this stopped this from happening. But the person who was going to do whatever was tremendously demon driven, cursed by another (or others) to be so mean. Praying for whoever was cursing him freed him.

The main thing is to pay attention to what the Holy Spirit is telling us — the Comforter Who will lead us into all trtuth, the Bible says — if we’re tuned in.

And we shouldn’t neglect our spiritual gifts, especially praying in tongues.

And when many of us are walking in the Spirit, ONE can happen!

I met Joe Miller last night

Last night, I met senatorial candidate Joe Miller at Wellspring church.

I mainly wanted to see his stand on preemptive war. I decided not to ask the question publicly during the Q & A, because I thought if he did agree with me [he said in his talk that he was a member of the Friends church — which isn’t the Friends church I knew about (see comments 1 and 2 below)] many of the ‘Christians’ there would decide not to vote for him, because they want to bomb-bomb-bomb Iran whether Iran is really developing nukes or not, and many haven’t yet repented from supporting the immoral Bush Wars I & II.

Didn’t Jesus say: “Do unto others…” and “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God?” How did we get so far off? Didn’t we learn anything from Iraq? Why do we think we can trust our government’s Iran-with-WMDs analysis when now we find they actually fabricated the Iraq version: Newly declassified: Bush team wanted Iraq war from start and White House claims of Iraq pursuing a nuclear weapons program based on confiscated aluminum tubes were fabricated

I thought I’d post a photo of Joe looking good,
because the corporatocracy owned Anchorage Daily News
probably will intentionally do the opposite.

Joe Miller

[20% crop of photo shot from across the room with the tiny LX5]

I was the last person to talk with Joe with I think only his campaign manager listening. I asked him what he thought of preemptive war, mentioning that I heard him say that he was a Friends church [Quakers] member.

He said he should have explained that. He then gave a response that I imagine is pretty close to Rand Paul, who is more willing to bomb Iran than his father, Ron. Ron Paul believes in self-defense when it really is, but preemptive war is most often reverse-Christian:

Ron Paul’s Biggest Eye-Opener: ‘Christian’ Evangelicals Pushing Preemptive War in the Name of Spreading Christian ‘Love’

Ron Paul: “I’m supporting Chuck Baldwin” & “the most difficult group to recruit has been the evangelicals who supported McCain and his pro-war positions”

Ron Paul’s Christlike Attitude: Love, Peace & Hope – No *Initiation* of Aggression!

Ron Paul: Jesus is the Prince of PEACE, Not Preemptive War

Joe said something like we shouldn’t be nation building with wars, but on the other hand, if just one nuke hits us, that’s the end of our republic. So he’s for bombing Iran, but not to take them over for regime change.

I responded, “But we can’t trust the CIA’s intel.” Right then, the man whom I think is Joe’s campaign manager scurried him off to go to another meeting — so Joe couldn’t answer.

Overall, I was impressed with Joe Miller’s willingness to answer everyone’s questions, and then to answer them directly. He seems like a real, no-nonsense kind of guy, totally unlike Lisa Murkowski, whom I’ve always not voted for.

So I didn’t get a Joe Miller bumper sticker. I can’t 100%-support a candidate who isn’t more careful about preemptive war, but I do think he’s quite amazing, and I hope he wins. He is light years ahead of Lisa, who is so liberal people wonder how she can still be a Republican. She has actually said something like: “I don’t think people care how much we spend.”

Lisa is in many ways the opposite of the Christlike leader, Congressman Ron Paul, whom the evangelicals in Alaska (and elsewhere) mostly dissed in 2008. And it really does seem that Joe Miller is very much like Ron’s son, who could soon join Joe Miller in the U.S. Senate, which would be a great improvement.

I didn’t think that Lisa had a chance, having lost in the primary to Joe, but in this ‘me’ generation, it seems that a large percentage of Alaskans are more concerned with getting federal money than in doing the right thing for the future of this nation, which includes no longer aborting babies.

God bless!

Selenium: Costco, “got it while I could” — Skin elasticity key ingredient!

I discovered almost 30 years ago the huge benefits of selenium. I haven’t talked much about it at ToBeFree because the FDA is out to get anyone who claims anything from natural products.

I’ll just say that the soils are deficient in selenium, and the most common fertilizers put only three minerals back into the soil, NPK. And environmental toxins require selenium and other antioxidants to clean them out of the body.

Costco used to have large bottles of Schiff (a real health food store brand that works) selenium for cheap, $6 or $7. We thankfully can still purchase vitamins and minerals over the counter (the FDA and Big Pharma want to control everything — the love of money), but selenium has gone way up in price, especially compared to what this bargain at Costco was.

So I’m mainly taking brewer’s yeast instead, which is high in selenium, B vitamins and other minerals and trace minerals (Just because something is a trace mineral doesn’t mean it’s not essential).

I actually take this mostly: KAL Nutritional Yeast (500 tablets). I won’t say how much I take. The FDA is diabolical — but if you email me I will (email is at About Jeff Fenske, top–right).

Selenium is one of the keys to skin elasticity. See: Selenium: A Trace Mineral With Antiaging Properties

I probably would have gone into some kind of natural healing profession, helping people understand what and how many nutrients to take, but the FDA is like a tiger ready to pounce on anyone not promoting Big Pharma’s mostly reverse-healing practices.

I think sulfur is another key missing ingredient in most people’s diets, and just posted this: Avoid knee surgery — glucosamine plus the same amount of MSM (Schiff states this is the clinically tested amount, and it works!)

I’ve also thought that restaurants could do really well, showcasing foods that have nutrients that people lack.

Why do you think roasted garlic and carmalized onions are used so much in fine restaurants? Someday, I may post my take on Emeril’s roasted garlic mash potatoes recipe.

And why do people crave shellfish? It’s super-high in iodine, but sea kelp is loaded with it, and is much cheaper.

To your health. I get tired of seeing friends deteriorating long before their time, deceived by BIG Pharma’s BIG money lies. They won’t promote anything they can’t make big money in, unless they’re finally shamed into it through the overwhelming evidence, like vitamin D, which many of us knew about 30 years ago.

Avoid knee surgery — glucosamine plus the SAME AMOUNT of MSM (Schiff states this is the clinically tested amount, and it works!)

[UPDATE: Costco apparently no longer sells Schiff brand, but now has their own brand’s version, Glucosamine HCL 1500mg With MSM 1500mg. It seems to require an additional tablet per day for me to get the same benefit; though, the recommended serving size is still the same. It’s very inexpensive. Big bottle, and is sometimes marked down further in their coupon book.]

I did. About 20 years ago, the doctor told me I had a torn meniscus and I’d have to have surgery. I told him I’d like to try natural stuff. He said, ~”You’ll be back.”

My knee hardly ever bothers me at all. I can do everything with it, including running!

Almost all non-accident surgeries can be avoided through proper nutrition.

And a friend of mine started taking this and his hip incredibly improved, but the versions with less MSM didn’t work.

Schiff® Glucosamine 1,500 mg plus MSM 1,500 mg

Schiff is a real vitamin company. This isn’t generic, white-label junk. It works.

But make sure to get the one that has the same amount of MSM as glucosamine.

MSM is sulfur, by the way, which is REALLY good for you. Don’t avoid the onion, garlic, hot sauce, cabbage, etc..

Cheers,

Jeff
