A fawn was resting in my back yard, so I propped my guitar on one leg and played him “Dandelions,” a tune I had just written, that I recorded on my new double CD, Nightlight Daylight. The fawn seemed to like the music and stayed around for several days. The fawn is nicknamed “Dandelions’

I wrote View from Space inspired by the images from the space shuttle Discovery, where my “Heartstrings” CD accompanied astronaut Susan Helms. …She told me it was good music to watch the earth by. I’m playing it live at the Muriel Anderson’s All Star Guitar Night at the Ryman Auditorium in 2009, together with some of the footage that so inspired the song, compiled by Bryan Allen.
This performance footage is from a live concert in Raymond Washington with Muriel Anderson and Tierra Negra. This was the first song of the show and featured Muriel playing her solo instrumental “View From Space” on a Tonedevil S-12 harp guitar.

This begins the posting of my ninety, photo-a-day images, started on August 31, 2016 — which I’ll post in reverse-chronological order. Subjects will vary greatly. It starts here with a BANG!!
I was driving Mom’s Volvo (smashed here on right) during AM rush hour on Tudor Rd. in Anchorage, Alaska. The black, 6,000 pound Mercedes SUV (behind the police officers) was driving in the entrance lane to the Seward Highway beside us. Instead of going onto the highway, he drove straight into the barrier (which his front bumper still almost touches here), and his rear end jackknifed into us — to our utter dismay! As you can see, the streets were dry, so it wasn’t ice related.
The elderly driver’s airbag deployed, but he did have some injuries. He’s in the ambulance here. One of the police officers said he ran into a sign further down the road. I don’t know why.
Two drivers stopped to help and give testimonies to the police. Impressive and much appreciated!
I took these photos of Cabela’s mountain goat display in their Anchorage, Alaska store with my 12MP LX100 compact camera, handheld. Didn’t want to make a scene with my 50MP 5DsR. The image behind the artificial trees and the three goat mounts is painted on the wall.

The non-profit was, of course, secretly founded and funded by the drug company. The drug company also financed that positive study….”

Astroturf and manipulation of media messages | Sharyl Attkisson | TEDxUniversityofNevada
In this eye-opening talk, veteran investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson shows how astroturf, or fake grassroots movements funded by political, corporate, or other special interests very effectively manipulate and distort media messages.
Sharyl Attkisson is an investigative journalist based in Washington D.C. She is currently writing a book entitled Stonewalled (Harper Collins), which addresses the unseen influences of corporations and special interests on the information and images the public receives every day in the news and elsewhere. For twenty years (through March 2014), Attkisson was a correspondent for CBS News. In 2013, she received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Investigative Journalism for her reporting on “The Business of Congress,” which included an undercover investigation into fundraising by Republican freshmen. She also received Emmy nominations in 2013 for Benghazi: Dying for Security and Green Energy Going Red. Additionally, Attkisson received a 2013 Daytime Emmy Award as part of the CBS Sunday Morning team’s entry for Outstanding Morning Program for her report: “Washington Lobbying: K-Street Behind Closed Doors.” In September 2012, Attkisson also received an Emmy for Oustanding Investigative Journalism for the “Gunwalker: Fast and Furious” story. She received the RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Investigative Reporting for the same story. Attkisson received an Investigative Emmy Award in 2009 for her exclusive investigations into TARP and the bank bailout. She received an Investigative Emmy Award in 2002 for her series of exclusive reports about mismanagement at the Red Cross.

It’s now so bad that in this election, HiLIARy supporters KNOWINGLY supported an immoral government. A large percentage of America is now willfully morally corrupt!
“History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline. There has been either a spiritual awakening to overcome the moral lapse, or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster.”
– Douglas MacArthur

“If the people are unhappy with the government performance it must be recognized that government is merely a reflection of an immoral society that rejected a moral government of constitutional limitations of power and love of freedom.
If this is the problem all the tinkering with thousands of pages of new laws and regulations will do nothing to solve the problem.
I took this photo in Anchorage a few hours ago of enthusiastic sign wavers. What really made it special were the dozens of friendly honks — the best being from semis!!!
Really special! United we stand : )
I used a long exposure for effect. The guy in the middle is waving a sign that can barely be seen.
Written on the back of the Trump sign is “DRAIN THE SWAMP,” which can be seen by drivers coming towards us.
Clicking on photo may open larger. I’m working on this blog to be able to publish some larger photos for my photo-a-day project, coming soon!
Amazing song utilizes Riverdance’s staccatic rhythm to convey breaking free from the dark side, the way I see it.
I’m not sure what the composer’s mindset is, because dark forces suddenly become the boy’s buddies and assist him in breaking free in the official video (with vocals). Very possibly, the creators of the official video went this route to keep the number of actors as few as possible.
Or it could be on purpose too, to promote the Satanic idea that demons are our friends. But I don’t get that feel from this instrumental version.
How do you look upon yourself?
Are you always looking down?
Down, down, down on the ground
Well, hold onto your dreams
It’s not as hard as it seems
If you try, you can do most anything
Whoa, the sky is the limit
You can reach beyond the stars
The sky is the limit
Let yourself go
Let the river flow
How do you look upon yourself?
Are you always behind?
Way, way, way, way behind
The possibility is here
You can be a pioneer
Just don’t be afraid of the new frontiers
Because the sky is the limit
You can reach beyond the stars
The sky is the limit
Let yourself go
Let the river flow
Many people have given up
They say the pressure is too hard to bear
Don’t have to do it all by yourself
Someone cares, up there
No one else but you
Can do exactly what you do
So let your talent come bursting right on through
Because the sky is the limit
You can reach beyond the stars
The sky is the limit
Let yourself go
Let the river flow
Just let yourself go
Let the river flow
I remember playing the cassette of this album, “The Sky is the Limit” a number of times while attending seminary during the spiritually dry second time.

Earth people, (this is love)
Please come in, (this is love calling Earth)
I am not alien,
This is love calling, (this is love)
Please come in, (this is love calling Earth)
I want to be your friend.
I have been around you since the world began,
I have even visited you and walked upon your land,
I have known your leaders down through history,
Some have made the effort to communicate with me.
Earth people, (this is love)
Please come in, (this is love calling Earth)
I am not alien,
This is love calling, (this is love)
Please come in, (this is love calling Earth)
I want to be your friend.
I don’t want to harm you; it’s the last thing on my mind,
I just want to share my love with all of mankind,
When your heart is broken, and the world has been unkind, I’ll pick up the pieces and I’ll give you peace of mind.
(this is love)
(this is love calling Earth)
(come in, come in, come in)
(this is love)
(this is love calling Earth)
(come in, come in)
Scientists are seeking immortality,
Astronauts are searching the skies for our destiny,
It’s not complicated, what this planet needs: love is still the answer to life’s mystery.
Earth people, (this is love)
Please come in, (this is love calling Earth)
I am not alien,
This is love calling, (this is love)
Please come in, (this is love calling Earth)
I want to be your friend.
Earth people, (this is love)
Please come in, (this is love calling Earth)
I am not alien,

Check out the 1,469-pound pumpkin that just broke the Alaska State Fair record
After five years of chasing the Alaska State Fair giant pumpkin record, Anchorage’s Dale Marshall finally won the heavyweight title once again.
At the 11th annual state fair pumpkin weigh-off Tuesday, Marshall’s 1,469-pound gourd beat the previous record of 1,287 pounds set in 2011 by J. D. Megchelsen of Nikiski.
It was a comeback of sorts for Marshall, who held the record in 2010. Marshall said warm weather and good seed selection led him to victory this year. Grown in a greenhouse at his Sand Lake home, the champion pumpkin weighs roughly as much as a large bull moose.
“(I did) pretty much what I do every year,” he said. “And it panned out.”
Marshall was also the lone entry in the 2015 competition, but was unable to compete when the crane hoisting his pumpkin broke during delivery to the fair, smashing the giant gourd into pieces.
