2019 Record Warm Year for Anchorage, Alaska – 5 warmest years occurred in last 6 years

I remember the cold ’81-82 winter well, working the planes outside at Anchorage International in a string of below -20°F nights. One night was -33°F. But the previous winter, my first in Alaska, had a melting spell, like ours yesterday, but longer.

Anchorage’s winter temps are much warmer than interior Alaska’s because of the ocean’s warming affect.

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) – 2019 will enter the books as the warmest year on record for Anchorage. The average temperature for the year is 42.5 degrees Fahrenheit. The previous “warmest year” was 2016 with an average temperature of 41.9F. In fact, the five warmest years for Anchorage have occurred in the past six years. The records for Anchorage go back to 1954. …

Anchorage had a record year overall, breaking the all-time record high on July 4 by hitting 90 degrees. The previous record had been 85 degrees set on June 14, 1969.

Lincoln Brewster: ‘Shout to the Lord’

“Shout To The Lord”
by Darlene Zschech

My Jesus, my Savior,
Lord, there is none like You;
All of my days
I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love.

My comfort, my shelter,
Tower of refuge and strength;
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth,
Let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.

I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand,
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.

Lincoln Brewster with KTIS (my home town)

I grew up in Minneapolis, where KTIS was the Christian station; though, I didn’t listen much (not spiritually alive). Here, Brewster talks about touring with Steve Perry (lead singer of Journey), ’94-’95, and why he quit.

[Tithing isn’t biblical according to the New Testament. Now we’re supposed to be led by the Holy Spirit, not the old covenant law.]

(vid) Lincoln Brewster: ‘Relativity’ LIVE

This seems to be from this concert, the last song, which was live At Bayside Church, Roseville, CA. I was disappointed by the lack of reverence in this concert, the K-LOVE ladies and Brewster’s jokes. It wasn’t very anointed, but this is the only live performance I can find of Brewster doing this song.

(vid) Lincoln Brewster – ‘Miraculum’ Live! – Powerful 5-Song Christmas Medley!

I just found this incredible song yesterday, Christmas day 2019, surprised and disappointed that it’s been out for years, as I love this complex and powerful Trans-Siberian Orchestra style, and Jeff Beck tones!

“Miraculum” is an amazing three-movement instrumental incorporating these five songs in what appears to me to mainly be in this order until the complicated ending: “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “We Three Kings,” “O Come O Come Emmanuel,” “Carol of the Bells” and “O Holy Night.”

The photographer shot it with a Canon 6D with 70-200mm f2.8L lens, zoomed to 200mm, using the internal mic, and with tired arms, he says — difficult to hold the telephoto steady.

Lincoln Brewster: ‘Miraculum’ [*Acoustic* Instrumental]

How can an acoustic version come even close to Brewster’s amazing electric masterpiece?

Though definitely not as awe inspiring and moving to me, some may less aggressive approach. Delightful is the quiet, pin-drop section in the center, followed by a majestic ending; though, not reaching the heights of the electric version.

Amy Grant: ‘Emmanuel’

Emmanuel, Emmanuel.
Wonderful, Counselor!
Lord of life, Lord of all;
He’s the Prince of Peace, Mighty God, Holy One!
Emmanuel, Emmanuel.

Mario Lanza ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ 1951!

Slow and powerful!

(vid) Debussy “Clair de Lune” on Piano for 80 Year Old Elephant

Debussy “Clair de Lune” for a gentle female elephant called Ampan.  Ampan is 80 years old and lives with us as Elephants World in Thailand.  She is blind in one eye and can barely see with the other.  80 years old is very old indeed for an elephant, it’s about 10 years past the natural life span of an elephant in the wild.

Interesting collaboration!
