I became a Christian in 1974 while reading the Paul and Silas jailer story in Acts 16 mentioned in this song. It was clear to me they had what I wanted. I was trying to find the true source of being able to love others — the one true religion that worked, which I hadn’t found while studying in the Lutheran school system K-12. While in my senior year, I don’t know why, but I decided to start reading the Bible in Acts 1, which I still think is a great place to start.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord Let every creature under God’s sun praise the Lord Let all the mountains, let all the valleys Let all the hillsides sing of His glory Let everything that has breath praise the Lord
Israel had a war to fight but the Lord showed them the secret He said the battle this day is mine, but you must listen how to do it Put your singers first in front of the rest Let them praise and sing to me And you will see the salvation of your God And watch your enemies flee
Paul and Silas were thrown in jail For preaching the gospel of Christ Though in chains they praised His name singing songs in the night Just then an earthquake shook the place and the chains and the doors were loosened Then the jailer ran in scared to death and that day he found salvation

One of my favorite kick-demon-butt songs, which I heard on the radio one time only, while visiting Nashville, Tennessee, while renting a blue Eagle Talon. I pulled over to focus on the song, which I then tracked down as DJ Miko’s remix of the famous 4 Non Blondes’ song.
Put on THE WHOLE ARMOR of God, that you may be ABLE TO STAND AGAINST the wiles of the devil. 12 For OUR WRESTLING is NOT AGAINST FLESH and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the SPIRITUAL FORCES OF WICKEDNESS IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES. … Stand therefore …with all prayer and requests, PRAYING AT ALL TIMES IN THE SPIRIT, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints…. (Eph. 6:11-18)
Encouraging word from Peggy Hall — unbothered by the haters and shamers!
“I encourage people to not care what other people think. It doesn’t matter what other people think. It only matters what God thinks. … It only matters what rings true for you.”
Peggy loves and quotes Psalm 27:
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked came against me
To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.
3 Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.
Best 6-minute summary I’ve ever seen. George nails it!

SHOULD WE FORGIVE IF THEY DON’T REPENT?
Some Christians say that if a brother does not repent, if they don’t come back to say they are sorry, we should not forgive them. They use the passage when Jesus said “Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.” (Matthew 18:15)
Dear brothers and sisters, a true Christian is a dead man to the world. They don’t keep record of wrong, they don’t care about their pride and their ego. They don’t care about being treated unjustly because they are dead to this world.
The passage that speaks about confronting our brother who sins against us in Matthew 18 is about a fellowship setting. If we are in fellowship together as brothers and sisters, we need to brings everything out into the open. We need to rebuke, correct each other but IN LOVE. This is because we need to stay in one accord and to walk together, we need to agree together.
However that doesn’t mean that we should not forgive anyone who has wronged us even if they don’t repent, not only Christians but also unbelievers.
When Jesus was on the cross, He said: FORGIVE THEM because they know not what they do. The people who crucified Him did not repent prior to Jesus saying that. The same with Stephen when he was being stoned, he said: “don’t lay this to their charge”.
There is no place for resentment in the heart of a Christian. We need to forgive everyone and for anything. We need to trust Jesus to deliver righteous judgment when we will stand before Him. He will repay, it is not up to us to repay.
