I just found this incredible song yesterday, Christmas day 2019, surprised and disappointed that it’s been out for years, as I love this complex and powerful Trans-Siberian Orchestra style, and Jeff Beck tones!
“Miraculum” is an amazing three-movement instrumental incorporating these five songs in what appears to me to mainly be in this order until the complicated ending: “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “We Three Kings,” “O Come O Come Emmanuel,” “Carol of the Bells” and “O Holy Night.”
The photographer shot it with a Canon 6D with 70-200mm f2.8L lens, zoomed to 200mm, using the internal mic, and with tired arms, he says — difficult to hold the telephoto steady.

How can an acoustic version come even close to Brewster’s amazing electric masterpiece?
Though definitely not as awe inspiring and moving to me, some may less aggressive approach. Delightful is the quiet, pin-drop section in the center, followed by a majestic ending; though, not reaching the heights of the electric version.
Emmanuel, Emmanuel.
Wonderful, Counselor!
Lord of life, Lord of all;
He’s the Prince of Peace, Mighty God, Holy One!
Emmanuel, Emmanuel.
Slow and powerful!
Debussy “Clair de Lune” for a gentle female elephant called Ampan. Ampan is 80 years old and lives with us as Elephants World in Thailand. She is blind in one eye and can barely see with the other. 80 years old is very old indeed for an elephant, it’s about 10 years past the natural life span of an elephant in the wild.
Interesting collaboration!
Yesterday and today, I’ve been humming one of Rico’s songs that I’ve posted. This melody isn’t as amazing, but the way he attacks the keyboard, propelling this song!
I can’t find any info on Rico. Sometimes he writes in Dutch.
A collaboration — nice!
Amazing roller coaster graphics; though, not my favorite music. They call it “old time” where my parents were/are from in New Ulm, Minnesota, southwest of where I grew up in the twin cities. My uncle played the concertina in his polka band, which is this sound.
‘Volare’ really moves at 1:32!
Upright posture song!
Kebu is Finnish, and uses only analog synths, described below. Amazing song!
Wonderful song and video, despite the low image quality! Imagine flying like an eagle!
Paul writes about the image quality in two comments:
This album and Natural States were both shot on 16mm film and transferred to 1″ videotape for editing. Those masters have disappeared into the void and would provide a better image than what I have posted here as I transferred them from laserdisc and preserved the quality the best I could.
I wrote a sincere thanks to Paul Speer on his Facebook page:
One of my favorite albums of all time. Thank you, Paul Speer! You and David Lanz did something very special here. The entire album is awesome!
Also, I have the Natural States VHS video that I absolutely loved, and was hoping for it to come out as a DVD. Paul Speer writes back regarding the quality of the video currently:
All were shot on 16mm film so they pale compared to hi def today. The first videos I uploaded were 11 years ago and youtube had restrictions on file size so the quality isn’t very good on those.
NS and DV were released on DVD but again, because of the source material, the quality isn’t so good. Unfortunately, we don’t know what happened to the original film or first transfer to video otherwise it would be possible to create a much better version in hi def.
Paul says everything was filmed in Washington state except for the second video, filmed on the California coast. I asked Paul how he and David created this masterpiece.
We’ve been interviewed many times about the project. The visuals were shot first by Jan C. Nickman and he did a rough cut of each piece that we started to compose to. Once we had the song structures, Jan would update the visuals so they were tighter with the music. After we finished recording, Jan did the final edits to blend seamlessly with the music. It was a time consuming back and forth process but well worth it, IMO. Of course, as we worked we had no idea if it would be a hit or a dud. We just did the best we could with what was available.
