Anchorage winter of 2011-12 breaks seasonal snowfall record

National Weather Service forecaster Christian Cassell takes the official snowfall measurement for Anchorage at 4 p.m. on April 7, 2012, while Daily News photographer Bob Hallinen captures the historic moment. Saturday afternoon’s snow put Alaska’s largest city at 133.6 inches for the winter of 2011-12, breaking a record set in 1954-55 by an inch.
