As I look back over my life now, and as people look back and think: if they get a diagnosis like stage 4 cancer…. I can only speak for myself….
I start reflecting on a lot of things in my life. Who I need to say ‘I’m sorry’ to? Who I need to do something for? And it is a time of really positive reflection. And I wish that I had done this maybe before I had the diagnosis, maybe 15-30 years ago. And we can all do that.
And I would like to see the year of 2017 be a year of reflection of all of us of our own lives.
And if that means that we need to go back and make some amends, or if we need to go back and do some things that will make our lives even better at this point and their lives better, then it’s time.

Also very interesting to me is the wide variety of aspect ratios he’s chosen to frame his images in. Most photographers shoot mostly in the aspect ratio of their camera, such as 3:2. William’s Hasselblad shoots in 4:3.
I would like to see a full frame sensor mirrorless that has an oversized sensor that captures the entire image the lens captures, so any aspect ratio can be chosen with maximum field of view and the maximum number of pixels, instead of having to crop 4:3, 5:4, square, the golden mean, 16:9, 2:1, etc. from 3:2. That’s my dream.
There is no reason to still be stuck in 3:2 when the 3:2 mirror box is gone.

Like most large cultural shifts, nothing happened overnight, but some wheels were already turning back in 1953, the year Hugh Hefner published the first copy of Playboy.
…to maximize sales, he had to change porn’s image; instead of being thought of as something your friend’s creepy uncle might have, porn needed to look mainstream. To do that, Hefner put pornographic photos next to essays and articles written by respected authors. In Playboy, porn looked like a gentleman’s pursuit.
The next big shift happened in the 1980s, when VCRs made it possible for people to watch movies at home. [5] For porn users, that meant that instead of having to go to seedy movie theaters on the wrong side of town, all they had to do was go to the back room at their local movie rental place. Sure, they still had to go out to find it, but porn was suddenly a lot more accessible.
And then the Internet changed everything. [6]
… According to a 2004 study of Internet traffic in May of that year, porn sites were visited three times more often than Google, Yahoo!, and MSN Search combined. [9]

“On July 28th, 1998 I had a heart attack, I died and I found myself on my way to hell. The Lord Jesus had mercy on me and He let me come back. I was at that stage a ‘saved’ man, I had accepted the Lord Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I was baptized in water, I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, I knew the voice of the Lord and He was speaking to me. But that morning I woke up with a terrible pain in my chest and I died. I found myself going down a deep black hole and I knew I was on my way to hell. I pleaded with the Lord Jesus to let me come back. He let me come back when I pleaded and asked and said:”Lord, let me go and tell the world, let me tell people, that this is real.”
Many people have asked me why it was that I was on my way to hell even though I was ‘saved.’ Dear friends, the reason is that I was serving God, MY WAY. I was an above average Christian.. I was a serious Christian. I was a person who knew the voice of the Lord Jesus, but I was serving the Lord MY WAY. I was not fruitful. The only way that we can be fruitful is if we serve Jesus as disciples, HIS WAY, not my way, HIS WAY.
Knowing the voice of the Lord is one thing but following Him, waiting on Him, serving Him as Master, that is another thing and that is what He requires of us. We cannot serve Jesus our way. He is not interested in that. We cannot bear fruit if we serve Him our way.
I tried to reconcile being a Christian with being a business man, with living a “normal” life, like all the other Christians and I was under the impression that I was doing very well, but by God’s standard I came short, it wasn’t good enough, I was on my way to hell. It was the biggest fright I ever had in my life and since that day I have never been at ease again with Jesus because I fear Him, because I know that He has got ONE STANDARD, friends, and that is HIS WAY.
We have got to seek Him, we have got to listen to His voice. What I think does not matter. My opinion, does not count. All that matters is Jesus. Is He pleased with me, is He satisfied with me? Am I obedient to Him? Am I doing what He wants me to do? Am I a disciple? Am I truly pleasing to Him?
Dear friends we can only be fruitful and pleasing to Jesus if we serve Him as LORD, as MASTER, if we wait on Him and if we DO what He TELLS us to do. I got to know Jesus. I love Him, I fear Him, I respect Him. I will die again. I will leave this body, but then I want to be ready. I want to be going UP, not DOWN and that is why I am following Jesus. I am working for His Kingdom.
God’s standard is not our standard, my friends. Jesus wants TOTAL, TOTAL devotion. He is calling you. Make sure that when your time comes, that you don’t find yourself going down the deep black hole. May Jesus bless you.

My own experience:
I’ve sometimes spoken of the EXTREME JEALOUSY some photographers have of others. They can be full of hate as a result, and can wish evil on other photographers, what I call James-3 cursing. Because that’s what James says not to do in chapter 3 of this Bible book.
Part of this has to do with the “love of money” being the root of all evil. Competition in a field which involves making money can get doggy dog when people aren’t living in the Son, and don’t even try to love their neighbor as themselves — Jesus’ second greatest commandment.
