Great movie about Gordon Lighfoot’s life, released in 2019! Gordon speaks a lot in the film at about age-80, and is pretty honest about things he regrets having done. This is the first time I’ve seen his story told. His music meant a lot to me in the ’70s!

I noticed a major shift in Gordon’s music after the ‘Sundown’ album (1974), the last album that I really liked, except for the title track. This movie may help explain why this happened. His voice got weaker, and the songs were less interesting, except ‘The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald’ (1976).

The most perplexing moment for me in the film is Gordon saying how he thinks Drake’s music is excellent, who also is from Toronto — because to me, Drake’s music is repulsive — almost the opposite of Gordon’s early ’70s music.

The movie’s end was emotional for me, since he meant so much to me but never was able to see the upcoming greatest spiritual awakening happen, which everyone has the right to see while they’re still on earth.

‘Woke’ now is more compelling to young people than Christianity, because they don’t see Christ in Christians. And many people are dying without being right with God and people, so they make sure they’re going to heaven.

It’s such a shame that most ‘Christians’ aren’t interested in being real Christians so we can be ‘ONE’ in Christ “that the world will know,” Jesus promised in John 17. God’s glory will be that strong and evident! 1 billion people may become Christians during this coming great awakening!
