This looks like a good method of listening to MP3 audio at a higher speed. It’s a bit of a hassle, because the files have to be downloaded first, and then opened in QuickTime, but it’s wonderful being able to speed up slow moving audio!

Incrementally Change the Speed of Playback in QuickTime with an Option+Click

If you click the fast-forward or rewind buttons normally, QuickTime jumps between 1x, 10x, etc speeds. However, if you hold down the Option key when you click, you get much more control over the speed. You can set it for something like 1.2x or 1.8x, or whatever you need. It’s a minor thing, but if you’re scrubbing through a video and want more precision, it’s a handy little trick. It’s also further proof that it’s worth Option+clicking everything in OS X just to see what’s there.
